Parallels between popular culture and art history are integrated through iconography.  “Being” is inspired by the Greek myth of Narcissus with a nod to Constantin Brancusi’s, “Sleeping Muse.”  Examining the current persona present in social media, this single-channel moving-image installation contrasts the authority of the past with the fleeting satisfaction of the new.
